TOUR № 3 - MICHAEL REESE & MOTOR ROW

When? Sunday, October 26, 2008. High Noon.
Why? 'Cause there's no Bears game.
How much? 5 dollar "donation."

Join us for a tour of the Near South Side. See the endangered remains of not one but two of Chicago's most historic hospitals. Learn about some of the lesser-known aspects of the "Motor Row" district, including a building designed by one of America's foremost industrial architects. Check out Stephen Douglas' Chicago legacy, including a subdivision created by the Senator himself.

Along the way, we'll show and discuss some of the area's remaining historic residential architecture, as well as the numerous urban renewal projects that destroyed much of the rest. Of course, one can expect lots of walking and numerous surprises along the way.

Please reserve a spot for the tour by sending an email to serhii (at) forgottenchicago.com. Please include the term "Tour" in the subject line, and your name in the body text. We will reply with a confirmation email with further details and the exact location.
